oohh baby i LOVE jazz! i've downloaded like a thousand jazz songs and i keep listening to them over and over again=) my all-time favorite is Watermelon Man by Mongo Santamaria that fella is brilliant! ! and the other day james told me about this paki guy nusrat fateh ali khan his songs are GOOD too though i dont understand a thing heh.
haha yepp i started mugging but i havent exactly done much either bleagh its the holidays who is in a mood to study! yeah we should go to school and study! i went yesterday but ended up playing tennis and roller hockey pretty much the whole time ugh. speaking of roller hockey, its super duper uber fun we should play it sometime (i hope everyone knows how to blade though)!
watched march of the penguins too its really spastic haha.
oh did i mention i think someone's birthday is a couple of days away? TWO days to be precise! hahaha.

caaaat i found this little shop at wheelock when i was getting my hair cut the other day i think you'll love it. it's called kate's paperie it's chock a block full of the quirkiest kitschiest stationery i've seen. hard to describe! stickers stencils clips in all weird shapes and sizes paper with pretty patterns EVERYTHING. took a lot of self-restraint not to grab a basket and start piling up with stuff. it's stationery-lovers heaven! hmm cat somehow reminded me of you la. you and your bookshop-shopping trips. must go there sometime

Boo! Today was damn weird and cool at the same time. Went for the SIASU awards thing with hazwan. Haha. Den i realised there n then that the G.O.H was he-who-must-not-be-named( in order to prevent shu ming from killing me when school reopens). Haha. Den msged ming ming n she told her dad to say hi to me? Wat the hell!! Den he came in all smiling and looking like Mr Lim. Haha. THot his speech was pretty cool. Quite impromptu and well-delivered. ANd when i came down from the stage, i looked at him n he waved at me. haha. Juz smiled n quickly went back to my seat. i din dare to wave coz it was kinda weird waving at the GOH in front of evryone. Haha. But shu ming's dad is really nice. :)

my camera lens is still smushed in horribly on one side after my usual klutziness in the com lab that day so i really can't upload the pictures, sorry baloo/curly. and i'm hopelessly technology-illiterate hence arvind's suggestion to use my 'memory card drive' is total gibberish. english please?

teacher's day was fun. was fidgeting through the whole of the concert at rj though, too impatient to get back to sc. rushed back as soon as i could with the rj sc girls. remember that the first thought that popped into my head when we were going past the big courtyard to the amphi was a line from that chantal kreviazuk song

it feels like home to me -

everything was just the way it should be. it was packed and squishy and warm and chattering and buzzing and smiling in the cosy squashy green amphitheatre. and all the teachers were wearing these little crowns made of multicolored straws and smiling like they'd really been made queens for a day. and there were those dance items that everyone looks forward to by the sc dancers which, seriously, after all the dance troupes and concerts i've seen, are always the last word in dances; and there were the choir juniors who sang lollipop and some josh groban song that made everyone tear; and there was a skit with people dressed up just like life-size animals from the Jungle Book and a peranakan comedy act that made everyone laugh (and cringe, sometimes.) and through the whole thing there were big clusters of girls in their colourful class t-shirts linking arms and singing along and cheering (screaming) at every performance just like we used to, just like only sc girls can, and the teachers smiling indulgently at their girls, proud of every bit of effort and love that had gone into every single item. and i felt like i was home.

i saw mrs goh! and mrs yogee! and they beamed so happily at me and made me feel like i was missed. and mrs wang! trust her to gush about the homemade messily-frosted brownie i gave her like i'd given her the most gorgeous most expensive of designer cakes. and ms heng peered at me in her stern principal-ish have you done something naughty way but then she smiled and patted me on the shoulder and said welcome back. and ms tan! she hugged me and i remembered the times she yelled and hyperventilated at me in history and i couldn't help laughing. and ms chua :) when she hugged me i could feel the warmth and the love and somehow i felt like crying. no one does plain tlc like scgs teachers do.

caught up with viola/gen/sarah/nellie. they're so grown up! and pretty! viola could be a supermodel. spent a long time in the nice old canteen sharing a big orange bowl of the hot salty oily vinegar-y famous sc meepok with eli and hearing all the gossip about the juniors from jiezhen. sabrina rushed over from acjc and we spent a nice long afternoon, just me and her, walking around town and talking. I HAVE MISSED THIS WOMAN. she's like the big sis i never had. awwww. may lin came and we pored over the sc yearbook and ate ice cream.

and that was my scgs-filled day.

Crap. My arms are sunburnt. Played soccer with dani nadjad and the prataboys after Teacher's Day Celebrations. (I must say, the councillors did a good job with the video. One of the few things the councillors did well) Never mind, scientists have found out that 1% percent increase in skin tone results in about a 20% increase in muscle definition. (Serious dey!)
